Salome Frenzel
Graphic Designer
My journey into design began with a childhood dream of becoming a fashion designer, inspired by how clothing and style can transform identity. This passion gradually shifted toward graphic design, where I could express visual storytelling in new ways while communicating ideas effectively.
My name is Salome Frenzel, and I am a graphic designer based in Northern Germany. After graduating as a graphic designer in 2021, I began my freelance career and have since worked with brands like Everpress, ABC Dinamo, Casetify, BenQ, and Typosters. My work has been featured on platforms such as The Brand Identity, where I’ve shared insights into the challenges and rewards of freelancing. Over time, my design practice has balanced bold, experimental aesthetics with clean, functional designs rooted in Swiss typography traditions.
Evolving Styles

When it comes to my style, I believe it’s still evolving. I found my creative direction through experimentation and expanding my skills. Looking at inspiration and observing what truly resonates with me played a key role in discovering my design style
But I believe it’s important to remember that having a style is fluid. You’re a person in an ever-changing environment, and evolution is part of both the creative process and life itself. If you haven’t yet decided on a fixed style, that’s perfectly fine. Do what inspires you, and what makes you happy. The journey is just as important as the outcome.
I find inspiration in modern art, architecture, fashion, and the way design interacts with people’s everyday lives. For me, design is about balancing aesthetics with purpose, creating work that not only evokes emotion but also addresses real needs.
Throughout my career, I’ve learned that persistence, curiosity, and openness are crucial in design. Every project, whether successful or challenging, offers opportunities to learn and grow. My advice to other designers is to trust your instincts, embrace experimentation, and remain curious. Design is an ever-evolving field, and staying true to your vision while remaining open to new influences will ensure lasting success.

Selfreflection
Poster
My Selfreflection Poster (January 2023) is one of my favourites because it explores the concept of reflection on multiple levels, both as a physical phenomenon and as an introspective process. The idea came from my interest in the complexity of the term and the opportunity to combine contrasts such as inner and outer reflections.
I approached the project using a mix of digital and analog techniques. I started by designing the letterings in Adobe Illustrator and then created stencils from black adhesive foil. These stencils were applied to a poster covered with mirrored foil, integrating the literal concept of reflection into the design. The creative process required a lot of manual work, which gave the project a unique tactile and layered depth. Additionally, I continued the theme in a photoshoot, further enhancing the project's aesthetic and conceptual elements.
The design was also made available as a phone case with a mirror back, which can be purchased on Casetify. This allowed me to turn the design into a functional product, giving it a new level of reach and accessibility.
The most rewarding part for me was seeing how others interpreted the project. Many shared their thoughts on the concepts of self-awareness and perception, which enriched the message even further.
From this project, I learned how valuable it is to combine both digital and physical techniques to create a multidimensional result. My advice to other designers is to experiment freely, choose passion projects that inspire you, and work with different techniques, both digital and analog. This kind of experimentation often leads to exciting, unexpected results and helps push the boundaries of your creativity.
